FAQ

Common questions about TCU / gearbox cloning.

Do I need to send the donor TCM?

Yes — for a clone job we need both the donor TCM (holding the correct data from the original vehicle) and the target unit (the salvage or virgin TCM you want written to). Send both together and include the vehicle VIN and gearbox part number on a slip inside the package.

Will the cloned TCM need adapting or re-marrying?

No. Cloning copies the complete data set — including all learned adaptations and any immobiliser data — from the donor to the target, so the result is a plug-and-play replacement. No re-marrying or adaptation reset is required after fitting.

Which transmissions do you support?

We support ZF 6HP and ZF 8HP (all generations), DQ200, DQ250, DQ381, DQ380, DQ500, DL501, DL382, 7DCT300, MPS6 (TC1766 and TC1784), NAG2, NAG3, VGS3, and BMW 6HP/8HP EGS units across all major European brands. Call us if your unit is not listed.

Can you clone a ZF 8HP Gen 3 (TC275)?

Yes — we support ZF 8HP Gen 3 units with the TC275 processor (9HP50, late 9HP48) as found in Jaguar/Land Rover from around 2018 onwards. Call or send an enquiry with the exact part number to confirm before posting.

How to send

Three steps from your bench to ours.

1

Order

Select the TCU cloning service for your transmission, complete the form with the vehicle VIN and gearbox part numbers, then pay via PayPal or request a trade invoice.

2

Pack & post both units

Anti-static bag, bubble wrap, and a sturdy box. Label the donor and target units clearly. Royal Mail Special Delivery or DPD/Parcelforce tracked. Include your order reference inside.

3

Back on the courier

Both units returned the same day they arrive — the cloned TCM is ready to fit straight away without any further adaptation procedures at the vehicle.

Got the part numbers?

Let's clone the gearbox.

If you are unsure whether the donor and target part numbers are compatible, or which generation TCM you have — call us first. We would rather confirm before you post than have mismatched units arrive.
